On 15 June 2011 the Italian data protection Authority (Garante) issued a decision, pursuant to which telecom operators are required to appoint their outsourcees of outbound telemarketing services as external data processors by 2 September 2011. Few days ago a new decision by the Garante has postponed this deadline until 30 November 2011.
